WHO CAN BENEFIT?

Can the EYEPORT help most people?
Yes. Vision is the body’s navigational system and in general accounts for approximately 90% of the information we take in every day. By exercising your eyes, you optimize your visual attention, directly affecting your ability to perform in school, on the job and on the playing field. Whether you’re keeping your eye on the ball in sports, judging distance while driving, or tracking a line of print while reading or computing, the ability of your eyes to aim, track, focus, and work together as a team, is the key to your success.

The EYEPORT Vision Training System is not designed to diagnose or treat pathological conditions, such as cataracts, macular degeneration, or glaucoma, etc. These are serious medical conditions which require professional diagnosis and care.

Will the EYEPORT relieve tired eyes?
Many people find that after using the EYEPORT, their eyes no longer feel tired and they can read and work at the computer much longer and more efficiently.

Will the EYEPORT improve common vision problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, or presbyopia?
The EYEPORT is a medical device that is designed to treat specific conditions associated with the aiming, focusing and teaming of the eyes. It has not yet been clinically evaluated for the treatment of the conditions named above.

EYEGLASS WEARERS

Will the EYEPORT eliminate my need to wear glasses?
The EYEPORT was not designed to eliminate the need for glasses. It was developed as a tool to naturally strengthen the full range of vision skills involved in performing on all levels.

Why do so many people wear eyeglasses?
The amount of time we spend reading and working on computers has significantly contributed to the epidemic of weakening vision. According to many researchers, there is strong evidence for an association between the amount of near work that we do, and the development of myopia.

VISION

What is the difference between vision and eyesight?
“Eyesight” is the physical process of focusing light within our eyes, whereas “vision” involves our ability to understand and respond to what is seen. Eyesight is limited to the ability to see, generally tested at a distance of 20 feet. Vision, however, is a dynamic process that involves the combined skills of aiming, tracking, focusing and teaming, along with a host of other mental, emotional and neurological processes.

For example, paying attention in the classroom and hitting the tennis ball on the “sweet spot” are all functions of efficient vision. Excellent eyesight alone will not allow you to efficiently perform at these levels.

Why is vision deterioration such an epidemic in the world today?
Your eyes were designed to function at all distances, utilizing your highly evolved three-dimensional vision. However, today’s culture demands that we spend a large part of our day indoors, under artificial light, reading and working at a computer for hours on end. This visually confining environment causes the eyes’ physical structure to adjust, compensating for these unnatural visual demands.

Why should I exercise my eyes?
Vision exercises are physical therapy for the eyes and brain. Since the eyes are the body’s navigational system, exercising them can improve a person’s performance on all levels.

CHILDREN, ATHLETES & COMPUTER USERS

Will the EYEPORT improve my child's ability to pay attention?
If your child's limited attention span is due to an inability of the eyes to maintain steady aiming and focusing, then the EYEPORT can help. However, only your vision specialist can make this determination.

What is the connection between vision and learning?
Vision is the primary way we pay attention, read and learn. When a child is experiencing difficulty learning, vision is the first place to look. Unfortunately, most people equate vision with eyesight and most learning-related vision problems have very little to do with eyesight. According to a study by Syracuse University, “the problem is not with their eyesight, but with the way their brains process visual information.”

Can vision training help children struggling in school?
Yes. According to the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, children needlessly struggle for years in schools across the country because they have undetected, learning-related vision problems.

Children are often labeled as having a reading or learning problem when their academic difficulties actually stem from correctable vision problems. By doing daily vision exercises, children can often improve the visual skills required for optimal classroom performance.

Although Dr. Liberman recommends vision exercises for most children, he always suggests that you first consult with your vision specialist.

What is your experience working with children and professional athletes?
During my 35 years in optometry, I have prescribed vision exercises for thousands of individuals, including Olympic and professional athletes and many children challenged by learning-related vision problems.

The results are often dramatic. Most of the children I worked with experienced profound changes in their learning ability, behavior and self-image. The athletes I trained noticed significant performance improvements within a short period of time. Exercising your eyes to improve your learning or athletic ability is no different than improving the function of your heart by doing cardiovascular exercises. If you do it, you’ll usually see results.

Can the EYEPORT help athletes improve their game?
Yes. Recently, the EYEPORT was shown to improve little league batting performance by 90% in just three weeks. Vision training has become very popular among professional and Olympic athletes. Many hire optometrists to work with them in order to optimize their visual performance skills. In sports, keeping your eye on the ball can make the difference between a good game and a great one. The EYEPORT Vision Training Sytem can help you fine-tune your visual skills, maximizing your potential on the golf course, tennis court, or baseball field.

Can the EYEPORT help computer users?
The American Optometric Association has found that approximately 75 percent of computer users complain of vision problems during or after computer use. In fact, vision discomfort is the most frequently reported complaint associated with computer use. Doing daily eye exercises with the EYEPORT can strengthen your vision skills, reducing many of the complaints associated with excessive computer use.

USING YOUR EYEPORT SYSTEM

Why Did I Receive Glasses with Red and Blue Filters?
Each EYEPORT unit comes with a special pair of glasses with red and filters. When these glasses are used in combination with the alternating red and blue lights on your EYEPORT unit, a unique effect occurs. The eye behind the red filter only sees the red light, while the eye behind the blue filter only sees the blue light.

This allows you to train each eye to accurately and efficiently aim, track and focus, while simultaneously reinforcing the ability of both your eyes to work together as equal partners. It is like training someone to become a “switch hitter.”
